REFLECTIONS
Experience
I really think I owe a big thank you to both Miss Anis and Mr Kannan, they were two of the most enthusiastic and helpful tutors I have ever met. Although it was daunting to reach out and speak up at first, I slowly learned that they are really friendly and are there for us when we need any guidance. Miss Anis allows us to contact her on Microsoft Teams and Discord even after school hours and I think she was one of the reasons for my big improvements. The whole module was fairly difficult and the work is rather tedious because of my incompetent skill in using the Adobe applications. However, as we progressed well into the semester, Mr Kannan taught us more and more on how to utilise these applications! The topics, concepts and skills taught in this semester are extremely interesting and I always find myself reading articles and watching tutorials to further expand my understanding.
Observations
This module greatly improved my skills in using Adobe applications and my understanding of creating an interesting narrative and visual storytelling. Although we had only 3 major projects in this module, each of them required a lot of time and effort as they targeted very specific expertise and skillset. These requirements push me to do comprehensive studies, analysis and training which caused my artistic and technical ability to mature a lot.
Findings
My progress and development throughout these 14 weeks have been drastic. This module allows a lot of creative freedom and we are not boxed into a few particular art styles, but instead, our lectures directed us to important concepts and ideas. These approaches towards digital art and creative narratives are universal and can be applied in various different art forms. I have since gained a lot more confidence in being an artist thanks to our wonderful lecturers, Miss Anis and Mr Kannan!
