My initial design separated the pasta recipe from the condimento (sauce) recipe. The instructions looked extremely cluttered and disorganised so I redesigned the layout again.
Fig 2.4 Layout iteration #1
The second time around, I decided to make the infographic more fun by adding this board game-like trail for the recipes and instructions. This layout also creates a smoother flow and movement. I first added the illustrated components and they seemed ok, so I added the texts to see if they look too crowded. I think it looks GREAT so I proceeded! Also, I was running out of time for this assignment so I just went on with it. Boy, is the workload for this semester heavy.

REFLECTION
I have always liked reading infographics because I find them captivating and thought-provoking due to the mixture of graphical elements and texts in presenting information and data. Through this project, I learned that a lot of planning goes into the designing of a good infographic. A good infographic is easy to understand and somehow takes your eyes on a predefined journey. Data storytelling is very useful and should be taken into consideration during the designing of an infographic. The audience should be introduced the topic is at the beginning and towards finishing the infographic, the story or the lesson should stick with them over time. I had a lot of fun doing this assignment and would love to design an infographic again! Not to mention the topic was about pasta. Who doesn’t love pasta?
