Week 5:
What is storyboarding (visualization)?
1. Originally developed in Disney during the 1930s
2. Involves converting a script into a comic that depicts the action visually
3. Provides a layout of events as seen through the eyes of the camera
4. Contemporary storyboards are used in a wide variety of multimedia projects.
What is the purpose of storyboarding?
- Show IMPORTANT ACTION
- Continuity/ Editing Point
- Shot Composition
- Indicate CAMERA ANGLE/ MOVEMENT
- Map out the scene

Animatic
- a series of images played in sequence, often with a soundtrack. In essence, it's an animated storyboard.
Advantages of Animatic:
- Timing of every shot
- The rhythm of the scene
- Audio & music added

TASKS
Week 3:
To create the story for Project 2, 30-second visual effects video,
you should:
1. Select visual effects shots from Zach King videos
2. Search for the making of/tutorial video for the selected visual
effects videos.
3. Build a story around the visual effect shot (1 character, 1
continuous event).
4. Breakdown to bullet point plot segmentation.

Week 4:
30 seconds visual effects video proposal
Project 2 is a 30 seconds video, simple plots(less than 5 plots) and
shots(less than 10 shots).
- Select visual effects shot with tutorial supported.
- Build a story around the visual effect shot (1 character, 1 continuous event).--> story
- Break the story into plot segments.--> plot segmentation
- Select visual effects shot with tutorial supported.
- Take photos (W.S, M.S, C.U etc) according to the shot list (landscape, 16:9 aspect ratio).
- Make a Digital storyboard.-->Digital storyboard
- Submit the proposal (GOOGLE Doc) that consists of 1. title, 2. 3xOriginal effect videos, 3. 3x tutorial videos, 4. story, 5. plot segmentation, 7. shot list, 8. Digital storyboard.

Phone & DSLR native aspect ratio is 3:2, however, we
need video format which is 16:9. Please follow the video to change the aspect ratio.
