3 Favourite Graphic Design Work from Pinterest

This poster stood out to me because of its simplicity, playfulness and strong contrast. The use of a few simple strokes, clear-cut shapes and the colour palette comprising of only 6 colours- blue, green, red, yellow, black and white were the main reasons why I like this piece. Despite illustrated in a geometric fashion, the title "Estropical" is rather indistinguishable at first sight. I personally appreciate artworks that are interesting enough to make me stare and savour for a while.

Clever packaging designs interest me a great deal. Ricola came up with this 'twist to unwrap' packaging, with human profiles on it. Before the consumer unwraps the candy, it can be deduced the man on the candy is in an uncomfortable situation, with his throat twisted and crumpled up. After unwrapping, the throat is now straightened, giving an impression that the consumer's sore throat can be cured after eating the lozenge. It is even more fascinating that the human face on the wrapper work both ways- it shows either emotion, pain or relief, depending on how you see it!

This piece is made up of several individual artworks. Not only do I adore the colour palette used, the artist also conveyed the messages effectively. I believe the artist has flawlessly executed many of the design principles such as balance, emphasis, harmony and unity. I especially like the piece on the second from the top right. It is captioned 'Earth has music for those who listen' where the artist drew a phonograph, with Earth as the vinyl, denoting the character literally listening to the music that Earth puts out.

Not sure ending with 15 nodes to spare makes me an adroit student...or just shows my incompetency!
